Design can be chaotic, your studio doesn't have to be

Today I spent the day refreshing my walls, something I have been putting off FOR MONTHS (say it isn't so). I like to frame pieces that were turning points, good lessons, memorable subjects....because I go back to the time of creation and can actually feel that piece and how I felt when I painted it. Not sure if this makes sense, but I look at a piece and I say "oh yeah, I remember you" and it all feels so familiar. Art is beautifully therapeutic in that way.

One day soon I will also reorganize my workstation and change my decor in my studio. I do this often because I really does energize your next session. I love clean paper and pretty things to look at on my window sill. I like when things looks shiny and I don't see eraser shavings everywhere. I also love to look in my marker drawers and see a perfect rainbow inside. If you haven't done this lately, this is my go-to if I need some inspiration and a boost.

Cleaning & organizing your workspace is a catharsis to progress. You feel prepared, you feel fresh (haha) and you actually can find everything easier. I find that organizing my materials helps me remember what colors/brushes/pens I do have, and sometimes I even find something new to try in the process!
